More information on exhibit about the human cost of the Iraq war

I copied the following information from a flyer. Most of Mike’s shoes were donated to this exhibit. I’m sure he’d approve. He has always been opposed to the war in Iraq.

Besides the exhibit, there will be an interfaith memorial service honoring those who died in the war. Saturday, October 27th 7:00 pm Interfaith Memorial Service at Church of the Reconciler, with a brief reception afterward for families of those who have been killed in the war.

EYES WIDE OPEN: THE COST OF WAR TO ALABAMA
β€œAn exhibit that speaks directly to our hearts and reminds us of the human cost of war.”
Over 60 pairs of empty combat boots –
tagged with the names of Alabama
soldiers who have died in the current Iraq war
– will be displayed, together with a visual
representation of hundreds of thousands of
Iraqi civilians who have died during the conflict.
